I went to YouTube to watch some music videos and relax a bit. One video lead to another which lead to another…

It has been a great blues evening with artists like Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, BB King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Jeff Healey, Gary Moore, Santana, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Mark Knopler and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Harmonica

I am a fan of blues music and I think it is great when there is a harmonica player in the band. Once when I was at YouTube I stumbled on Harpdog Brown who has several videos in his Harpdog profile.

Today I went and bought a harmonica for myself, to play with (in more ways than one…) just for the fun of it. It will be done when I am on my own though, I doubt anyone else can stand listening to it

I have found a site where one can learn about harmonicas and harmonica playing.

I have found another good blues podcast, or more correctly Dave found my post about Blues podcasts. Dave wrote me about his own blues podcast called BluzNdaBlood and I like it. Go there and get some more great blues music.

That is the name of my favourite CD with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. The title song features Albert King and is 15 minutes long.

YouTube is an interesting site. Their tagline is “Broadcast yourself” but there is much more available. I found music videos with several of my favourite blues artists. And I found a new (to me) named Harpdog, several great videos with him and his band.

Update. YouTube has been cleaning up and many videos with copyright have been removed.

The Raven ‘n’ the Blues.
I have been browsing around looking for podcasts and found The Raven ‘n’ the Blues. It is a superb show with great music, one hour each week.
Update June 12, 2008. Dave’s own home page is at Dave Raven, Blues Radio DJ broadcasting from a houseboat on the Thames.

The Roadhouse.
The Roadhouse is a great podcast with the finest blues you never heard. Unknown bluesbands is the main theme.
