Today my yoga teacher talked about Sat Nam, an interesting topic which makes me understand why she calls her website Truth is your identity.
Wikipedia says this about Sat Nam:
In Sanskrit, “sat” means “truth” and “nam” means “identity”. There are many differing interpretations when you put the two together – some websites have given the following [...]

A while back I finished a book by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Wherever you go there you are – Mindfulness Mediation in Everyday Life. I love Jon’s low key style. The book which consists of very short chapters, most of them only a few pages long, covers different aspects of mindfulness and meditation. There are also practices [...]
Google has a collection of company videos at YouTube. There are a lot of sessions worth watching.
I came across Mindfulness with Jon Kabat-Zinn which is terrific. The workshop is an hour long but is well worth that time, it also includes a meditation session. Jon Kabat-Zinn talks about mindfulness and meditation, awareness, non-doing, beginner’s mind, [...]
I came across the post Mindful Eating which has a great quote:
And when you chew, chew only the carrot, not your projects or your ideas. You are capable of living in the present moment, in the here and the now. It is simple, but you need some training to just enjoy the piece of carrot. [...]
I love this quote from The 5-minute Meditator, a book about ’spot meditations’:
A person in a Buddhist centre, sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed for an hour, may be completely unfocused and not meditating at all. He could be daydreaming, falling asleep or thinking about everything at random. Conversely, someone who is fully present while [...]
I got a tip to use pranayama as preparation for meditation. That of course pushed me to refresh my knowledge about pranayama and I went to Yoga Journal. In the Pranayama practice section of their website you find articles, in Pranayama Poses you find exercises.
I prefer short meditations and practice spot meditations.

I am testing Zemanta which shows related articles while you are blogging. When blogging about meditation it showed an article at Time titled How to Get Smarter, One Breath at a Time. In the article Walter Zimmermann attributes his brain’s enduring sharpness to 40 minutes of meditation each morning and evening. The practice helps him [...]
When browsing the net about meditation I came across an article at BBC: Scientists probe meditation secrets. The article says that scientists are beginning to uncover evidence that meditation has a tangible effect on the brain.
Research into the health claims made for meditation has limitations and few conclusions can be reached, partly because meditation is [...]
I browsed YogaDirect.com and found a Yoga T-Shirt with text about meditation. The text made me smile: “Meditation – Better than sitting around all day doing nothing…”
Yoga Journal is a favourite of mine and I subscribe to their free newsletter. A while back it was about Meditation.
Meditation 101 is about the basics of meditation. It is written by Claudia Cummins, here are more of her essays.
